our bedrock beliefs

In 2006 Our Savior's identified five bedrock beliefs. Bedrock beliefs are those gifts from God that are cherished by members of Our Savior's. They are the beliefs that sustain us in times of crisis and that we would like to pass on to our children and grandchildren. Those beliefs are listed below:

Worship – Word and Sacrament

"One Lord, One faith, One baptism" Ephesians 4:5

"This is my body given for you" 1 Corinthians 11:24

"I have laid up thy word in my heart" Psalm 119:11

It is at worship that God’s Love flows to us through the Word and Sacraments and it is this Love that flows through us into the world.

Faith

". . the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things unseen." Hebrews 11:1

Faith is a cherished gift from God. Faith is trusting God. Faith assures us of God’s presence with us today and points us forward to the gift of everlasting life.

Grace

"My grace is sufficient for you"

II Corinthians 12:9

Grace is God’s undeserved gift to us. Here we acknowledge that all that we are and all that we have is a gift from God. We serve and live in response to the grace of God.

Prayer

"Cast all your anxieties on him" 1 Peter 5:7

Prayer is a gift that comes with our relationship with God. God calls us to pray individually and as a community.

Love

"love one another as I have loved you" John 13:34

Love binds us together as a community. Love is first and foremost a commitment to be there for one another no matter what the circumstances. We believe that nothing can separate us from the love of God shown to us in Jesus the Christ.
